Reflective Journal

cerminReflective Journal is a method for someone to record thoughts, feelings, and insights about their own experiences such as their learning and working experiences. It encourage a person to review and consolidate learning, to evaluate performance, to plan future strategied based on past learning and working experiences. In such a way, a person become capable to make their on decision of what they want to learn and to work, and eventually to develop into independent life-long learner.

In this section, i will try to write down on significant events or experiences that strike my feelings, thoughts, and insights as a medical personnel and medical teacher. Hopefully through this practice/activity, it may result in positive impacts on myself as well as others who read this section.

The Structure of Reflective Journal:

1. What points that I have learned from the events/activities?

2. How do I do in the events/activities?

3. I will give one or two examples of most successful acts during the events/activities. I will try to explain what things i did that make them successful.

4. I will give one or two examples, if relevant, of errors or least successful acts during the events/activities. I will try to explain what things i did that lead to errors or unsuccessful.

5. The next time I confront a similar situation, what could I do differently to increase my learning and working experiences?

The five things will described and shared through this section. Hopefully it will be a fruitful inputs to me as well as others. Besides that, contribution such as feedback, comments and opinions from readers are most welcomed to optimized the benefits can be gained through this practice/activity.
